SUMMARY:Effective Crisis Communication Skills
DESCRIPTION:Effective Crisis Communication Skills\nWhy Attend\nWhat do the 2010 British Petroleum spill\, the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH 370\, and the financial crisis of 2008 have in common? They were all unexpected crises that rocked the world and created seemingly insurmountable Public Relations (PR) challenges for the organizations involved. This course provides participants with the opportunity to identify how a crisis can impact an organization and what should be done to mitigate its effects. The course focuses on how to prepare the communication function to respond rapidly and effectively in the event of a crisis in order to be able to manage perceptions in the media and online. \nBy attending this course\, you will learn best practices in crisis communication management\, situation analysis\, risk assessment\, crisis team formation and responsibilities\, protocols\, and resources to be used such as crisis manuals and communication tools. \n\nCourse Methodology\nThe workshop is designed to be interactive and participatory with the occasional use of various educational and training tools. The course also relies on the use of real life cases aimed at helping the participants translate the theory into application in an effective and efficient manner. The course is built on four learning pillars: concept learning (lectures and presentations)\, role playing (group exercises)\, experience sharing (roundtable discussions) and exposure to real world crises and policy choices which participants may confront. \nCourse Objectives\n\n\nBy the end of the course\, participants will be able to: \n\nIdentify the different types of crises and their aspects\nList the various principles of crisis communication\nDevise crisis management processes aimed at mitigating potential crises in their organizations\nDemonstrate the benefits of using the media in a crisis situation\nEvaluate and prioritize the dimensions involved in crisis communication management\nAnalyze and interpret results achieved through crisis communication management\n\nTarget Audience\n\n\nThis course is targeted at team leaders\, supervisors and managers of public relations sections as well as any staff member who may be involved in managing communication issues during a crisis. \nTarget Competencies\n\n\n\nPublic speaking\nVerbal and non-verbal communication\nInfluencing audiences\nBuilding rapport\nMotivating subordinates\nOrganizing and leading projects\n\nOutline\n\n\nIntroduction\n\n\n\nDefinition of a crisis\nOverview of communication\nVarious types of crises\nKey aspects of a crisis\nEvolution of a crisis\n\n\n\nPrinciples of crisis communications\n\n\n\nSetting your clear objective\nResponding quickly\nAccepting responsibility\nAppropriate messaging\nProfiling your audience\nShowing and maintaining credibility\nCoordinating with others\nContinuous monitoring\n\n\n\nCrisis management process\n\n\n\nPre-crisis phase\n\nCrisis Management Plan (CMP)\nCrisis Management Team (CMT)\nThe spokesperson’s role\n\n\nCrisis event phase\n\nInitial response\nReputation repair\n\n\nPost crisis phase\n\nLessons learned\nFollow up with communication\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCrisis communication and media\n\n\n\nMedia and communication\nMedia as a partner in crisis response\nSocial media and crisis communication\nSocial media as a beneficial tool or a challenge\nDynamic use of social media in crisis communication\n\n\n\nDimensions of crisis communication management\n\n\n\nStandard operating decisions dimension\nVictims’ management dimension\nTrust and credibility dimension\nBehavior dimension\nProfessional expectations dimension\nEthical dimension\nLessons learned\n\n\n\nHow to measure your results in a crisis\n\n\n\nMeasuring outputs\nMeasuring impact\nMeasuring outcomes\nSteps for a measurement program\n\nDefining your objectives\nDefining your audience\nDefining your criteria and benchmarks\nDeciding upon your timing\, budget and measurements tools\nAnalyzing results for conclusions and recommendations\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Coordinated by BASA Training \nYou can also visit our Online Courses Website Excel Elearning \nYou can also get an affordable ebook on ebooksnest.com \n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration Form\nPlease enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form. Please enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form. \n Email Contact 3\n \n \n Applicant Details *FirstLastEmail *EmailConfirm EmailPhone Number *Course Type *--- Select Choice ---CertificationsAccounting and FinanceAdministrationAuditing and GovernanceBankingBusiness Continuity and Crisis ManagementCommunication and Writing SkillsConferenceCustomer ServiceData Analytics and Artificial IntelligenceData Management and Business IntelligenceDigital Innovation and TransformationGovernment and Public SectorHuman Resources and TrainingInsurance and Financial ServicesInterpersonal Skills and Self DevelopmentIT Management and Cyber SecurityLeadership and ManagementManagementPlanning and Strategy ManagementProject ManagementPublic RelationsQuality and ProductivityRisk and ComplianceSafety and EnvironmentSecurity ManagementSelect the correct course category (typically found below in the course details)Course Name *Course VenuePretoria\, South AfricaDurban\, South AfricaCape Town\, South AfricaKigali\, RwandaHarare\, ZimbabweDubaiAdditional InformationOrganization Name *AddressAddress Line 2 *FirstLastAddress Line 3 *FirstLastOrganization Contact DetailsFirstLastNumber of Participants from organization\n\n\n\n	Participants: 1\nUse the slider to chose whether you want to register only 1 or 10 participantsAdditional Participants detailsSubmit
